Ghost-Note Releases “Mustard n’Onions” with MonoNeon and Marcus Miller
Ghost-Note has released their third album, Mustard n’Onions, which – as you can imagine from the title – is a funky affair. The band, led by Snarky Puppy’s Robert Sput Searlight and Nate Werth, put all they had into it alongside a top shelf guest list.
“Mustard n’Onions is an expression of Ghost-Note’s profound love for funk and jazz and its gravitational pull on our musical world,” says Werth. “With every track, we respectfully take our hats off to the OGs of these genres while adding our additional influences individually and collectively.”
“This record represents the DNA of 10 brothers that absolutely love creating music together, and when we all come together it’s ‘Tribal Righteousness,’” Sput adds. “This Funk not only stinks, it heals… Nate and I are proud and lucky to have this unit gifted to us.”
The funk emanates from the low end thanks in large part to MonoNeon, who also co-wrote the album’s first single “Bad Knees.” Ghost-Note was also graced by the presence of Marcus Miller on “Yellow Dan.” His signature tone and style are perfectly supported by the band’s vibe.
Mustard n’Onions is out now on CD and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3). The band will be on tour starting in May (tour dates below).
